Mikias T. Tibebu

Mikias T. Tibebu, 18, of Schaumburg, suddenly December 8, 2012. Beloved son of Dr. Tefera T. Beyene and Nigest Geberehiwot; cherished brother of Nebeyu Tibebu, Samuel Tibebu and Ruth Tibebu; loving nephew of Abaynesh Alemu, Meseret Tibebu (Fekedu Alemayehu), Tiruye Gebrehiwot, Woinshet Alemu (Yigzaw Haile), Beyene Tibebu (Helen Berehe), Daniel Gebrehiwot (Yeshihareg), Thomas Tibebu, Emawaye Alemu (Tsega Tadege), Temesgen Tsega, Asnaku Tsega, Wasihun Tsega, Beletu Tsega, Asrese Desalegne, Biruktauit Yigzaw, Samrawit Yigzaw, Theodros Yigzaw, Mekdes Daniel, Nardos Daniel, Fasika Kasahun, Kidest Kasahun and Abonesh Tefera; dearest cousin of many. Funeral service on at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago. Interment Montrose Cemetery.

Mikias Tefera Tibebu was born in 1994 in Ethiopia from his father Dr. Tefera Tibebu Beyene and from his mother Mrs. Nigest Alemu Geberehiwot. In 1996 he immigrated in to the US with his parents and resided first in Chicago and since 2002 in Schaumburg, IL. Mikias was an accomplished Senior at Schaumburg High School. As the finalist for scholarship at Pomona College, he was waiting to have his interview on Thursday, December 13, 2012; unfortunately he passed away before the event that may lead him for better life and opportunity. This is untimely death and not only his family but also all people who knew him saddened by this tragic event. My God place his soul rest in peace.

ሚኪያስ ተፈራ ጥበቡ ከአባቱ ከዶ/ር ተፈራ ጥበቡ በየነ እና ከእናቱ ከወ/ሮ ንግስት አለሙ ገብረህይወት እንደ አውሮፓውያን አቆጣጠር በኖቬምበር አስራ ሁለት አስራ ዘጠኝ መቶ ዘጠና አራት በባህር ዳር ከተማ ተወለደ። ከዚያም አባቱ በስራ ወደ አዲስ አበባ ተዛውረው አዲስ አበባ መኖር ሲጀመሩ በአውሮፓዎያን አቆጣጠር በአስራ ዘጠኝ መቶ ዘጠና አምስት ወደ አሜሪካን ሀገር በዲቨርሲቲ ቪዛ አማካኝነት መጥቶ ከዚያን ጊዜ ጀምሮ እስከ እለተ ህይወቱ እረፍት ድረስ በደስታ ከወላጆቹ፤ ከውነድሞቹና እህቶቹ፤ከአጎቶቹና ከአክስቶቹ ጋር በዙሁ በችካጎ አካባቢ ይኖር ነበር። ተማሪ ሚኪያስ በትምህርቱ ጎበዝ በስፓርት ደግሞ በእግር ኳስ እና በሩጫ ከፍተኛ ውጤት ያስመዘገበ ታዳጊ ልጅ ነበር። ለአብነት ያህል፦

1ኛ፤ በአጠቃላይ በትምህርት ውጤቱ ሁል ግዜ የከፍትኛ ማዕረግ ተሸላሚ

2ኛ፤ በ2007 የአሜሪካ ፕሬዜዳንት(George Bush) የከፍተኛ የትምህርት ማዕረግ ተሸላሚ

3ኛ፤ በ2009 የአሜሪካ ፕሬዜዳንት (Barak Obama) የከፍተኛ የትምህርት ማዕርግ ተሸላሚ

4ኛ፤ በ2011 በትምህርት ቤቱ የስፓንሽ ኦነር ሶሳይቲ inducted ሆኗል

5ኛ፤ በ2012 ከትምህርት ቤቱ የከፍተኛ የትምህርት ማዕረግ ሜዳልያ ተሸላሚ

6ኛ፤ በ2012 የ Mid Suburban League ሶስትኛ ደረጃ ተሸላሚ

7ኛ፡ በ2012 በ State of Illinois የስቴት ስኮላር ሆኖ የተመረጠ

8ኛ፤ በ2012 የ National Award Winner የነበረ

9ኛ፤ በ2012 ሙሉ ስኮላርሺፕ finalist ሆኖ ተመርጦ በካሊፎርኒያ የሚገኘው የ “Pomona” college interview በ 12/13/2012 ለማድረግ በጉጉት በመጠባበቅ ላይ እያለ አስከፊ የሞት አደጋ ይህንን ታዳጊ፤ ቅን፤ ቤተስቡንና ጓደኞቹን ወዳድና አክባሪ፤ የሀገር ሥም የሚያስጠራ፤ ለሀገር ጠቃሚነት ዝግጁ የነበረ ከሁላችንም መካከል ነጥሎ ወሰደብን። ይህ ትልቅ ሀዘን ለቤተስቦቹ ብቻ ሳይሆን እርሱን ለሚያውቁትና ለሚወዱት ሁሉ ነው። እግዚአብሔር ሁሉንም ፅናት ይስጣቸው። የሱንም ነፍስ በገነት ያኑርልን።
