

Nick Ranalli, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Thursday, November 27, at the age of 89. He was surrounded by loved ones and left this world with the compassion, strength and dignity that defined his life.
Nick was born on August 6, 1936 in Collelongo, Italy to Eliseo and Alfonsina (Ciccolepre) Ranalli. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Nick was a natural storyteller and a sensitive and quietly profound person.
Nick immigrated to the United States in 1958 and took great pride in his family, friends, and work as a steel worker and skilled craftsman.
Nick was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elisa (Pisegna) Ranalli. Nick is survived by his children Angie, Rina, and Nick Ranalli Jr., and his grandchildren Elisa Meyer, Jack Meyer, and Henry Riddell. He is also survived by his son-in-law John Meyer, his brother, Tony Ranalli, his nephew and nieces Eliseo, Mary, and Kim Ranalli, and his family in Collelongo including brother and sisters-in-law Giovanni and Elena Pisegna, Ornella, and Antonina and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Nick will be held at Drake and Son Funeral Home (5303 N Western Avenue, Chicago, IL) on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 10:00 am until noon. A private interment will be held at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago. A memorial mass at St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso, IN will take place on Saturday, December 20.
