Mrs. Lenters was like a second mother to me. She was my kindergarten teacher at Joyner Child Parent Center. She continued to be a friend and supported me throughout the years. She is the reason I have my high school diploma. She would type out and bind my short stories. She gave me confidence and made me believe in myself. I will forever be grateful to her. I love You and you’ll be missed.

I first met Patty and her roommates in Chicago in 1970. The friendship continued through our early working careers and we became roommates for a time.
We rejoiced when Patty and Arnie wed. While I moved to Florida late 1987, Patty and Arnie visited me and rejoiced when Paul and I married in 1991.
Patty was the oldest of our circle of friends, and she teased us as we crossed each milestone birthday, just behind her.
We know the last few years were difficult ones for Patty and Arnie, as Patty's health declined. Arnie worked very hard to make Patty comfortable at home. After we saw Patty last year, we cried.
She is in a better place now, without pain. The world is a better place since Patty Jeserich Lenters lived among us.
Carol Singer Viau (& Paul, too).
