Dr. Seifert left this life on Monday, February 21, 2011. He was deeply loved by his wife of forty-four years Eileen (Brennan) and his adored daughters Cybele, Sonya (Amor Kohli), and Bevin and by his cherished siblings Milton (Dorrie), Greg (Sherrie), John (Sheila), Mary (Tad), Paul (Carol), and Tom. He had a warm relationship with his in-laws, Genevieve and the late James J. Brennan of Portland, Maine and with the whole Brennan family. He was so proud of the next generation of nieces and nephews and enjoyed his extended family of blood and of friendship. Born on Bastille Day in Minneapolis to Dr. Milton Seifert and Laura DuPont, he had an idyllic childhood on Christmas Lake. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame, received a Ph.D in pathology from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and an MD from the Universidad Autonoma de Juarez. His daughters were always his special joy, and in his later years he found a caring and inspiring community at the Old Town School of Folk Music. He had a driving zest for life, for knowledge, and for music. In a truly humanistic sense he believed in the worth of all people and their beliefs, traditions, and stories. Services are Saturday, February 26 at the Drake Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western, with visitation from 2-4 and a memorial service from 4-5. The family suggests contributions to the financial aid fund of the Old Town School of Folk Music in his name. info 773-561-6874
