

Ralph Weber, 88, of Chicago, died Saturday, March 11, 2017. Born in Chicago, he was the son of John Martin Weber and Isabel Mildred (Moore) Weber, and the brother of Doris Adele (Weber) Miller. He attended Calumet High School and went on to study at the University of Illinois at Navy Pier, and to study commercial art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He also served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He met Anna Mary Perakis and they married June 25, 1955. He worked at The American Can Company as a package designer for more than 30 years, retiring in 1989. During those years he also freelanced as a commercial artist throughout the Chicago area and designed the stained-glass windows at the United Methodist Church of Albany Park and at the Frankfort (Illinois) United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. He is survived by his loving wife Anna, his daughters Pamela Weber of Chicago, Amy Weber (Randy Hughes) of Carbondale, and Lori Weber of Albuquerque, and his granddaughters Emily, Eleanor and Esther Hughes. He loved art, old movies, and making his family laugh. His love of art lives on in his children and grandchildren. Private burial at Wunder’s Cemetery in Chicago. The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at a later date, to be determined.
