Ramona Fernandez-Morales

She was born November 24, 1930, in her hometown of Barrio Nuevo, Bayamón, Puerto Rico, to loving parents Isidro Morales, and Carmen Fernandez. She was the youngest and the last surviving of her siblings: Ramon, Emelia, Pepín, and Cecilio.

As the matriarch for 5 generations, she was the heart and guiding light for our family.

Ramona faced many challenges throughout her 95 years and she met them head-on with grace, grit, determination and always with her family in mind. Her legacy for family, love and wisdom will forever guide us.

Ramona was known for her loving hands, whether it was to take care of a sick family member or to cook some amazing foods. She was quick to share her home remedies and her traditional Puerto-Rican cooking. Christmas meant an assortment of all kinds of goodies that brought family members and neighbors near and far to her door.

Many generations were taken care of by Ramona. Her willingness for unconditional love and acceptance was known throughout the community. She was our rock, our strength, our guiding light and she will be missed dearly.

Ramona Morales is survived by her beloved children, Efrain Torres, Sonia Rodriquez, Gladys Rosario, Margaro Rosario, and William Montes.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 9:30am, located at Montclair Funeral Home: 6901 W. Belmont Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60634.

Final resting place will be Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, Illinois, 60162.

A visitation will be held at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, located at 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634, on January 28, 2026, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue on January 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.

The committal will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, Illinois, 60162, on January 28, 2026, starting at 1:00 pm.

A committal service will also occur at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, located at the same address, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on January 28, 2026.
