

Born on April 5, 1957, in Chicago, Roy was a proud graduate of St. Thomas More. He dedicated much of his professional life to serving his community as an Operating Engineer for the City of Chicago and Pratt Mechanical. Roy had a deep faith and a generous heart, devoting countless hours to volunteer work for his church, where he also served faithfully as a Sacristan. He was an avid sports fan of the White Sox and the Chicago Bears and enjoyed watching the 3 Stooges. Avid fan of Baraccos in Evergreen Park and could be found there most Sundays with The Bucket Club! He had many loyal loving friends! His kindness, humility, and willingness to help others will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Roy was the son of the late Marion Francis Thompson Phillips and the late Roy Edward Phillips. He was a beloved brother to the late Marilyn Phillips Flyn, Patti Phillips Milet, Diane Phillips Geiser, Mary Kay Phillips, and Joan Phillips Holland. Roy was also a cherished uncle and great-uncle to many, who will forever treasure his love and guidance.
A visitation for Roy will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 9525 Lawndale Avenue, Evergreen Park, IL 60805, followed by a funeral mass from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
