Victoria Guanio Abad

Victoria Guanio Abad went to be with Our Almighty Lord peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2025.

“Torie” was born in the Province of Nueva Ecija, Republic of the Philippines on February 5, 1945. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila Philippines. She served in the Medical Technology field for her healthcare / medical organizations until her retirement.

She immigrated to the United States, became a US Citizen, and has resided in the Chicago/Skokie area for over 40 years.

Torie was an integrous, compassionate, courageous, loving, joyful, and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a dedicated servant of Our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, a great and honorable woman of her Catholic faith. She was an active member of her Filipino community and her church parish. Torie always made her immediate and extended families her highest priority with her faithfulness and unconditional love.

Her interests and hobbies included spending lots of time with her family members, friends, and parish, traveling, and enjoying her Filipino heritage, culture, and activities.

Victoria is predeceased by parents, Pacifico and Maria Guanio Abad; and her brothers, Prudencio, Raymundo, Pacifico Jr., and Virgilio; and her sisters, Enriqueta and Marietta; and her niece, Nedenia.

Victoria is survived by her sister, Angela (Helen), and 17 nieces and nephews: Denny, Edwin, Charlene, Melissa, Aileen, Maritoni, Clark, Marissa, Margaret Joy, Jay, Jesse, Melissa, Yvelin, Sean, Lunarosa, Ronald, and Gilbert.

Visitation/Viewing: 8:30am to 10:00am at Drake & Son Funeral Home 5303 N. Western Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625.

Mass: 11:00am at St. Peter Catholic Church 8116 Niles Center Road Skokie, IL 60077

Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery 5800 N. Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660
