
Yemiru Chanyalew was born in Addis Ababa September 5th, 1960. He was the son of a diplomat and lived in Ethiopia, Sweden and Mexico prior to the Derg regime. At 18, he moved to the United States and over the next 30 years became a successful IT Executive, husband and father. In 2009, Yemiru and his family moved to Ethiopia to build Moneta Technologies which gave life to what we all know as Amole, the first digital wallet in Ethiopia; this accomplishment impressed even the most seasoned business people. Yemiru was passionate about life experiences and traveled to over 50 countries for work and pleasure. His family and his business were his priorities and he lived every day to the fullest. Yemiru was very generous, always lending a helping hand to those who needed him; both with life advice and life choices.
Yemiru was a passionate entrepreneur, a visionary and a family man who lived his life with generosity and high expectations of himself and others. Yemiru is survived by his wife, son, two daughters, mother and 4 siblings.
