Funeral service for Juanita Baker Lightsey, age 90, of Bon Air will be Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 2PM at Bon Air Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Thomas and Rev. John Limbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 at the church.
Mrs. Lightsey passed away on August 9, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Odell Lightsey, father, Charlie Baker, mother, Bertha Mae Vaughn, sisters, Lucille Kawoski, Margaret Balch and brothers, Charlie Meeks and Edward Meeks.
Juanita is survived by her son Jody Lightsey (Bonita); her son Jeff Lightsey (Carolyn); her son Hank Lightsey (Laquetta); her daughter Sherry Johnson (Walter); and her daughter Debbie Brannon (the late Paul Brannon); her grandchildren Ginger Hilyer (Matt), Dean Johnson, her grandchildren Bethany Brannon, Tricia Lightsey (Brandon), her grandchildren Colt Lightsey, Cassie Epperson (BoBo),, her grandchildren Jeffery Lightsey, Jerrica, Anthony,, her grandchildren Jonathon, T.J., Bobby, Misty, her great grandchildren Ashlee Hilyer, Harrison Hilyer,, her great grandchildren Lane Dennis, Parker Dennis,, her great grandchildren Cruz Lightsey, Callie Lightsey,, her great grandchildren Jace Epperson, Cade Epperson,, her great grandchildren Kingston, Bree, Aiden,, her great grandchildren T-Vari, Ethan, Aubrey, and her great grandchildren Colby, Erica, Alaia.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved going to church and her Lord, going to church was the most important thing to her, she enjoyed dressing up and going places with her family and to the senior center in Childersburg to see her friends, she once said there were no better directors than Vicky and Diane Moody. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Bon Air Baptist Church where she loved cooking for
her church friends, she loved to witness to everyone she talked to and she left her fingerprints on many people she came in contact with and in her final days, all she could talk about was how she was ready to meet her Jesus.
Pallbearers are Jody Lightsey, Jeff Lightsey, Hank Lightsey, Jeffery Lightsey Jr., Marcus Lightsey, Colt Lightsey, Bruce Meeks, Steve Hyatt, Bobby Thornton, Dean Johnson and Men of Bon Air Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
