Just heard the news of Duncs passing and was both shocked and saddened . Haven't heard from Dunc in many years ( time flies ) but he was the type of guy one doesn't forget ( especially if you were in his circle of friends ) . Many fond memories come to mind of myself , Dunc , Phil Rose and Harry Summers back in the day , just enjoying each others company . Many a summer Sundays , Phil would borrow his Moms car and we'd chip in a quarter each and drive around all afternoon . May his soul rest in piece . Condolences to his family , You've lost a good one .

dunc was my best friend from age 12 when he moved to new cove rd st john's nfld. to age 18 when he joined the military. we hung around in a group of about 5 of us with phil rose, tony gauci and harry summers. to this day i remember dunc as the nicest guy you would ever meet in your life. he would literally do anything for you. there was not a single mean bone in his body. we went to sock hops, feel in love with at least 100 girls, had our first illegal aged beer at Milts in churchill square, when our math teacher happened to pop in for a cold one. sauntering over to the table he put his hand on dunc's shoulder and pleasantly said "how are you guys today". to this day that was the fastest beer i/we have ever drank as we scooted out the door. i have a million stories but i want to say i love you dunc and i will remember you always.

Alexander or( bubbles) as we all called him was my section commander the first two years I was posted to 4cer in Lahr and we were really good friends .We spent a lot of time at Tonnies bar together. When I met my wife Barbara, I was just a privet and didn't have much money and no car. Bubbles bought a new Mercadies and gave me his VW Beetle, and said, "Don't sell it. When you buy a new one give it to someone else who needs it. " And I did. He was a great role model, one of a kind. You had to Love him. I'm sorry, I have not seen him in 34 years. But I've often thought of him .

God bless you all,

Mary Rennie

Bubbles was someone who everyone knew and liked. Our paths crossed over the years (in the military). He was easy going, laid back, agreeable individual. He has left us way too soon. RIP my friend.

Bubbles, I knew you from Germany in the early 80's. Even though our paths have never crossed since that time I always considered you as one of my great Army buddies. I was so saddened to hear of your passing. May you forever rest in peace my friend. My sincere condolences to family and friends.
