It is with great sadness we announce Cindy's passing in Chilliwack Hospital after 10 years of medical problems, which she fought with courage and strength. She was honoured with the "Courage to Come Back" Award in 2010. She always had a good thing to say and a smile to share. Cindy was a Home Support for many years and was involved with AA in many capacities and was an inspiration to many.
Cindy is survived by her son, Carl Schwehr (Jennifer) and two grandchildren, Jonas and Nora; her parents, John and Maralyne "Sandy" Notheisz; her three brothers, Fred (Audrey), Stuart (Rhiannon) and Bryan (Caitlin); as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. And finally, the person who had given her so many happy times and to whom she planned a life together, her fiancé, Clayton Hornady. She is also missed terribly by her dog, Sammy.
Thank you to all the Home Support Workers, Doctors at VGH and Chilliwack Hospital, the incredible caring nurses and the Dental Team of Doctors who worked so hard over the years to help her.
A memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Anglican Church, 46098 Higginson Rd. Chilliwack with Rev. Larry Adkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Chilliwack Hospital Foundation or to the St. John's Church Memorial Fund.
Arrangements under the direction of Henderson's Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd., Chilliwack, British Columbia.
