He served in the military for 12 years, from the age of 16, included Apprentice Training Squadron 3 Field Chilliwack and 4 Field Germany. He worked at Dairyland for 28 years, he took early retirement at the age of 57, he then went on to drive a school bus with his very special, special needs kids. Dave fully retired from work at the age of 65.
Dave is survived by his wife Carol, Brother Peter, Son Wayne (Shannon), Granddaughters Nadine Atkinson, Shantelle (Ty) lunzmann, Great-grandchildren Wyatt and Chloe Atkinson and Kaydince lunzmann
After his heart attack at 42, he continued to live and enjoy his life for another 37 years.
There will be a military color party service to honour him and say goodbye at the Vedder Legion, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM
In lieu of flowers- donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, locals can donate to the Legion in person (3-11 pm).
Dave will be missed by all who shared his path in life, he has crossed his bridge to be with his fallen comrades.
