Donald "Donnie" Lloyd Maynard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald (Donnie) Maynard, on November 21, 2025 at the age of 87. He was born on March 23, 1938, in Chilliwack and was the 15th child of Lorenzo Leroy & Audrey Alice (Collison) Maynard.

Donnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He leaves behind his wife Lila of 35 years; his children Lisa Leuenberger, Rodney Maynard, Cindy Maynard, his step children Tony DeGroot, Joan Bohac (Jim), Shelly Edwards (Mark), Sherry Vink (Ron); as well as 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, his sister Mae Hill, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Donnie was predeceased by his step daughter Teresa DeGroot; his parents; sisters Alice Mills, Elsie Marlatt, Gladys McCaughan, Florence Drake, Mavis Tapley, Bea Mawby, Vivian Hetland, and brothers Leroy, Delmer, Wes, Dick, Alfred, & Fred.

Donnie was passionate about cars, travelling, gardening & his love of horses. He started his own roofing business in Chilliwack, Valley Roofing, & was known for his work ethic & getting things done.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you and appreciation to all the care of the Chilliwack General Hospital nurses and doctors, and the wonderful staff at Heritage Village, especially Aquadel.

A Graveside Service will be held at Chilliwack Cemeteries, 10010 Hillcrest Drive, Chilliwack, on Friday, December 5th at 1:00pm with all welcome. A Memorial Reception will follow at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack around 2:00, where we will gather to

share stories and memories of Donnie’s life.
