Doris is survived by her daughter Susan (Jo), and two sons Stanley (Semmia), and Wayne, two grandchildren Jennifer (Chris) and Ryan and 6 great granddaughters, and many niece, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and her extended family Nancy and family and high school friend Freda.
She is predeceased by her husband Peter, her infant son David, her parents Alfred and Pearl Hale, her brother Bert and sister Joyce.
Doris loved gardening well into her 80s; her green thumb grew lot of vegetable and a variety of different flowers. Her back yard was amazing.
She was a great photographer documenting all the milestones in our lives. After moving to Chilliwack from Yale in 1965, she got a job at the Woolworth store, where she made long-time friends while helping customers in the Hardware department.
Thank you to the caring staff (who took care of Doris) from Fraser Health, and the Birchwood that had been her home since December 2023.
While living at Birchwood she ended up with the nickname smiley, as she had a welcoming smile for everyone.
A special thank you to her lunch and dinner friends who always had a helping hand or word to help her enjoy her meals, as she was vision impaired.
Also thank you to doctors and nurses that took care of her medical needs.
There will be no service as per her request. At a later date her ashes will be laid to rest next to Peter in the Rose Garden, at Chilliwack Cemetery.
Mom, we will miss your loving hugs and warm smile until we meet again.
