Eddie is loved, admired, and remembered by so many people whose lives he touched. He had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour. Recently Eddie had applied to the Canadian Armed Forces and scored in the top 8% on the written exam. He died before his last interview. Eddie was so smart! He was artistic and a perfectionist at the many things he began (but never quite finished). An accomplished welder, he just about finished repairing all the rusty spots on his 1983 Toyota Corolla -- he loved old vehicles and taking them apart. Eddie started school in Mount Lehman and then went on to Sir James Douglas and Vic High in Victoria. After graduating, he went to Camosun College. He moved to Burnaby and attended SFU where he immediately became a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Later he went to UFV in Abbotsford. His focus was in Mathematics, and as "Mr. G" in Victoria said, he could accomplish anything when it came to math! Eddie looked up to his older brother Will Markowski, and together they played many a video game over the years and enjoyed RISK with friends among other foolish and fun things. His favourite nickname became "Eadle", but probably had more such as Marko, Fast Eddie and others. Eddie also admired his other older brother Gavin Markowski for his accomplishments with Web Development and easy understanding of languages, especially Japanese (both of them went on a school trip to Japan where Gavin was able to cover for Eddie's shenaigans!). From stealing the jelly-bean jar in Grade One at Mt. Lehman Elementary School (Sorry Mr. Village, I honestly just found out!), to being the Goy Boy in Victoria for his friend Harry Siegel, to being a kind and gentle soul, Eddie never found life easy or took it for granted. Unfortunate circumstances at Thetis Lake occured when Eddie was just 16 and crossed paths with another 16 year old from Vic High who blindsided him with a police baton causing a head injury requiring immediate surgery. This determined his future, and Eddie was never the same afterward, but his caustic sense of humour and quick wit did not suffer! Eddie is survived by his mother, Joanne Gordon; older brothers Gavin and Will and sister-in-law Julie Anne Ames. We all loved him so very much. Not to be left out are his many many friends who showed up to celebrate his life at his merry wake at Swans in Victoria just before Christmas. He will be sadly missed but not forgotten, because we invite you all to send in your pictures and stories of Eddie!
