She was born and raised in Yarrow, the second of 8 daughters and then one son born to Aron and Olga Rempel.
Edie was married to Robert (Bob) Simpson on August 28, 1956.
They celebrated 69 years of married life, with the vast majority of it spent at Cedar Acres on Unsworth Rd.
Bob and Edie shared their home and acreage with literally thousands of people.
Edie is survived by her husband Bob, and her children, Dean (Suzanne), Gary (Sharon), Joan (Phil) and Scott (Jacquie).
Edie was the proud and dedicated grandma and great grandma to 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life will be on Saturday March 21, 2pm at Broadway MB Church.
