Helmut Berndt

17th, 2017 surrounded by his family at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack at the age of 82 years. Helmut was born in Romania and moved to Canada with his parents in 1952. Beloved husband of wife Norma (of 49 years), loving father of daughter Lori (Kevin), grandfather to Haydn and Eva Berndt, loving father of son Robert, grandfather to Cassius (Casey)Berndt and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Helmut was predeceased by his parents Michael Berndt

Louisa (Kern) Berndt, and brothers John and Erdmann Berndt. The family would like to thank the paramedics of BC Ambulance Service who attended Helmut home and the staff of the Emergency department of Chilliwack General Hospital, particularly the doctor on call, nurse Jessica in the ER and the nurses on the third floor. Special thanks to Pastor Pam Pederson, Dr. Gord Enns and Sharon, and Mitch, Gary and the staff and volunteers at Cascade Hospice who provided such respectful and compassionate care to Helmut. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday July 29th at 2pm at Henderson,s Funeral Home in Chilliwack.
