James Reginald O'Brien

It’ is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim O’Brien, beloved husband of Swanell, father to Shannon, Kelly (Cheryl) and Kevin (Suseanna) predeceased by son Michael. Grandfather and Great-grandfather to Michael; Erin; Kody (Kalena) Kacie, Konlin; Lukass (Alana) Keena, Talis; Kayleen, Haylee. Brother to Robert (Cathy)and sister Patricia who predeceased him. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Cumberland, BC and moved to Fraser Mills as a teenager. He married his high school sweetheart Swanell in 1954. They had 67 plus years together raising a family and pursuing many new adventures. While working for BC Telephone Company he ventured into farming; first a dairy, then alfalfa farm, then a ranch, as well as a mobile home park in retirement. They travelled south for 35 years. First with a truck and camper, a 5th wheel, then a motor home, as well as travelled overseas. Jim loved and bred Quarter horses, to enjoy the foals each spring. . He designed, built, and renovated many homes over the years. He could turn his hand to almost anything. He was greatly loved by all and will be dearly missed.
