Jim was born August 3, 1953, to Horace Victor and Millicent Mae Tournier in Chilliwack BC where he lived his entire life and raised his family. He is survived by his wife Helen of 48 years, two children Corrina (Matthew) and Travis (Nikita), and three grandsons Easton, Brock, and Jack. Jim is predeceased by his parents and two older brothers Tom (Linda) of North Vancouver and Bob (Gretchen) of Chilliwack.
Jim was a dedicated family man who spent his entire adult life providing for and being there for his family. He was a gentle soul that cared about what mattered, his family, and was always there for all of his children’s sports, events, and life milestones. In his earlier years, Jim spent his leisure time on the ball field, at the Chilliwack Curling Club, or camping and fishing the local and interior lakes and rivers with family and friends making countless and unforgettable memories.
Jim and Helen were well traveled in their 48 years together, enjoying all of the Hawaiian Islands, cruises, trips in their RV, and most recently taking the entire family on vacation in Hawaii, and later Mexico.
Jim was especially excited about the new addition to the family set to arrive in the fall of 2025. Learning of her name two days before his passing gave him immense joy and we take solace in this.
Friends and family will be gathering to celebrate Jim’s life on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 1-4pm at the Chilliwack Curling Club.
Please join us to toast, Jim, and share your favorite memories with us. (open mic and written memory box available)
