April 1, 1936 – November 3, 2024
Jerry passed away with his family by his side Sunday, November 3.
Survived by his daughters, Nancy and Judy. His grandchildren are Eric (Juliane), Nicole (Ken), Jerrdon (Kristal), and Mitchell. His great-grandchildren, Glenn, Ingrid, Oliver, Cohen & Rylee. Sisters, Doris (Les) Tower & Bonnie (Don) Breckenridge.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marnie, and his parents, Roger and Pearl Pickard.
Arriving with his parents in the Harrison Lake area in 1939, first living at 20 Mile Bay and then in the Village of Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz was where he and Marnie raised their girls and enjoyed retirement.
Jerry began working on equipment at an early age, alongside his father. Road building, land clearing in Agassiz and logging. He helped build the #1 highway, the local dyke system in Harrison Hot Spring. Many of the back roads on both the East and West of Harrison Lake were constructed by him or under his guidance during his years in the logging business. He knew every bump and turn from the head of the lake to his home overlooking the lake.
Jerry enjoyed his time out camping, boating and fishing on the lake. He liked to have happy hour after a good day's work. Nicola Lake became a favorite retirement spot. His most important thing was his family.
A small family gathering will take place in 2025.
A sincere thank you to all his neighbours, and friends for their kindness and support.
We will remember his voice every time we head out. “Check the oil and the tires”
“Cheers” Dad, we will keep the party going
