

Jack is survived by his children and grandchildren: Colin Horricks and Sherry Small, and grand children Luke, Jeff and Sophie; Elaine Horricks and John Milne, and grandchildren Kate and Jordan; Robert Horricks and Rachele Oriente, and grandchildren Madeleine and Savannah; Marcia Horricks and John Grieve, and grand children Colin, Clark and Stella; and step-children and grandchildren: Rosemary and Tony Vairo, and grand children Stephanie, Leah and Marina; Phillippa Nisbet and Sarah Somerville; his sister, Ruth Horricks Sujir; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Otto Jahnke and Sheila Pridmore.
He was predeceased by his father, Rev. Henry Magee Horricks; mother, Margaret Bernice Horricks (nee McEwen); brother, Lawrence Horricks; sisters, Hazel Buckland and Alma Bennett; and spouses, Sylvia Horricks (nee Faunt) and Malita Horricks (nee Jahnke).
Rev. Jack Horricks received his formal education at the University of Toronto and Yale University. He was ordained into the United Church of Canada in Edmonton, Alberta in 1946 and went on to serve in pastoral charges across Western Canada in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Jack was a scholar and humanitarian, who was deeply committed to community and social justice.
A memorial service in celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Chilliwack United Church. Memorial donations in the name of Jack Horricks may be made to the Chilliwack United Church, 45835 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack BC, V2P 1T4.
