Matthew Robert Nilsen

He had a smile that lit up a room, a great sense of humor and he brought joy to all who knew him. He loved his family, trains, dinosaurs, Lego and snuggling with his pets.

He is survived by his father Lorne Nilsen and mother Barbara Nilsen, grandmother Jacqueline Heinrichs, uncles Stanley Nilsen(Diane) and Stephen Nilsen, Aunty Kathy Nilsen, Aunty Susan Heinrichs (Aunty Kathleen Chase), cousins Mike Nilsen and Jaclyn Nilsen. He was predeceased by his sister Crystal in 2011 and his grandparents Knute (1995) and Marie (2021) Nilsen.

We are thankful for every moment that we were gifted with our beautiful son as he has had a lifetime of sickness having battled cancer as a baby and then many lifelong side effects and subsequent life altering illnesses. Too many times we were told he would not survive but he did! He was a fighter like no other who has earned his rest in heaven with his heavenly Father. We gain comfort knowing he is reunited with his sister.

The family has chosen to have a private memorial for Matt.
