After high school, Morley started his working life as an electronics technician. He then went on to a career in sales which led to him owning and operating local businesses in the Chilliwack area – Drapery Store and Automobile Sales. One of his passions was designing kitchen cabinets for clients.
Morley met his wife Helen (nee Friesen) in high school and they married on July 19, 1968. During their 52.5 years together they enjoyed a variety of sports such as snowmobiling, boating, water skiing and quadding. Throughout the years they also enjoyed the company of their fur babies (cats).
Morley was most passionate about vintage and classic automobiles. Their travels took them to a number of car shows around Canada and US, most notably the Barrett Jackson Car Auctions in Las Vegas. After retiring, Morley’s garage usually contained one of these vehicles that he was tinkering with before selling it and acquiring another to work on.
Morley and Helen also enjoyed travelling with either a motorhome or 5th Wheel. They spent the majority of their time camping at Beachwood in Birch Bay and also venturing as far as Mexico on one trip.
In the last 6.5 years Morley had a number of health issues which led to his hospitalization.
Morley passed away peacefully on March 7, 2021 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital with Helen by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen, mother Emma Walker, sister Annabelle (Henry), brother Warren (Shelia), and numerous brother and sisters-in-law as well as nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Theodore.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
