Owen Cornelis Kattenberg

Owen Cornelis Kattenberg passed away on October 11, 2025 at the age of 7 after a 10 month battle with brain cancer. He was born on September 1, 2018 in Chilliwack, BC. He is lovingly remembered by his parents Rick & Amanda, his four younger siblings Logan, Carmen, Marijke, and Wesley, his grandparents Wout & Addy Kattenberg and Dave & Sue Herfst, his great-grandparents George Eckhardt and Barbara Herfst, as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He completed grade 1 but never began grade 2. His favourite colours were green and blue. He was an active young boy who loved to play outside. He loved attending school during the week and going to Sunday school at church on Sundays. He loved Bible stories and learning about God. He expressed his love for Jesus verbally and showed it in his response to being taught the things of the Lord from a young age.

A condolences for Owen will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM and again from 7:00-8:30 pm at Free Reformed Church, 45471 Yale Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2R 3Z8. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Ave Church, 46510 First Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P 1W9. A graveside service will follow at Chilliwack Cemeteries, 10010 Hillcrest Dr, Chilliwack, BC V2P 7X1.
