She is survived by her niece Janice (Peter) Gregg and her children Ross and Jenny in England. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Jean, and her siblings, Florence, Archie, Connie, and Jean.
Born April 27, 1928 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, Sylvia came to Canada in her 20’s in 1954. When she saw an ad for a cook position in Harrison Hotel, she immediately inquired about it, was hired, and worked there until her retirement.
She cherished going to church where she worshipped whole-heartedly; she had a passion for missions and a generous heart. Sylvia served in whatever way she could and used every opportunity to share her love for Jesus and pray for people. Sylvia was feisty, a rascal in her own way, and had a great sense of humour.
Thank you to the staff at The Waverly for their kindness.
An open house in her honor will be held at City Life Church on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, 2-3:30 p.m.
