Theresia Gibney

It is with great sorrow that the family of Theresia Gibney announces her passing on January 9, 2025, at the age of 97, in Surrey, British Columbia. Theresia was born on September 9, 1927, and lived a full and cherished life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion.

Theresia is survived by her son David, granddaughters Linda and Sandra (Aidan), and her great-grandchildren, Evan and Logan. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters Tilly and Helen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

Theresia was predeceased by her loving husband Tom, her son Denis, and daughter-in-law Gail. She was also preceded in death by her dear sisters Angie, Anna Marie, Sister Joanne, and her brother Paul, who all held a special place in her heart.

Her family and friends will always remember Theresia for her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral Mass for Theresia will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Mary's Church, 8909 Mary St, Chilliwack, BC V2P 4J4. Following the funeral Mass, a graveside service will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Saint Mary's Cemetery, 46110 Promontory Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2R 4M4.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
