Moje draha Maminka!  Zejtra (Prvniho Maje) mas Narozeniny!  Us je to 3 roky a 5 mesicu co si odesla.  Je to tesko pochopit pro mne ze us je to tak dlouho.  Nas Danko tek tak misoval, ale ted je tam v Neby s tebou .... a ste spolu .... a z druhyma ktery ste mneli rady!!  Zejtra jsem mnela mit klidnej den .... ale nevim jak to dopadne .... ale budu na tebe mislet celej den .... a mozna ze najdu naky hesky kvety dat do Vasy!  Pisu ti neska protoze zejtra musim na chvilku jit pric .... ale neska tady tu Nedeli te hrozne "missuju"!!  Pisu trochu Cesky abych uplne nezapomnela psat, aj mluvit!  Dej Oteckovi velkej HUG odemne!  Ted kdys vidit jaky si delam starosti kuli urcitim vecmi, tak te slisim jak mi plripominas: "Jezis marja, si vic a vic jako Danko!" ..... Pockejte este chvili nes tam pridu .... bejt s vama!

Happy "83rd" Birthday Veruska!  Knowing you as I do, I think that "38" is more appropriate, as you partake in your new Heavenly Life! After all that you experienced in Earthly Life -- the Good, the Average, the Rough Spots, you ALWAYS remained YOUNG AT HEART--that special quality unique to YOU, and in those days since you left us, when a sudden burst of Sunshine broke through the clouds (and yesterday was unexpected & Magnificent), I immediately thought of YOU -- my "One and Only" TODAY and FOREVER!! Dear Veruska!  On this day, Jan. 15th, 2021, I am here to honour the 1 year Anniversary since you left me and Danko to go to Heaven to embark on a New Journey! You have not left us as much as you went to your New Home where you are surrounded by so much Love - that we can only experience once we are in God's Spiritual Kingdom! You are being remembered as the Sweetest, Kindest person I have ever known …. and your Presence lives on in my Heart Today and Forever!  Until Danko & I Cross Over where we shall meet & be together again -- your Spirit lives with us Daily! I cannot describe how much you are Loved,  Ivanka

Dearest Mom, Veruska! Today is YOUR SPECIAL DAY! If you were here with me (and Daniel who is in Hospital at this time) you would be "82", or as you would jokingly say: "No, I'm only "28"!"  On the kitchen table are beautiful Flowers in clear, crystal vases and Birthday Cards from Me and Danko!  And placed against the vases are two beautiful photos (you on your Wedding Day) and the other of Me playing with a doll (photos taken in Czech Republic).  I know that YOU will be watching and enjoying the flowers/cards/photos from your New Home in Heaven -- as I know/and feel your Spirit is as Alive as ever!  I am sending you LOVE and KISSES!! Mr. Kucera and Ivana, I am Emily's daughter and although I have never met you, I would like to give my condolences on the loss of your wife and mother. My Mom met Vera in the role of a "serious illness journey volunteer", but I know it wasn't long before Vera also became a friend because of the way my Mom spoke about Vera. She will be missed.

Mom's favourite saying to Homemakers or Visitors/Friends who commented whether we looked alike or not.  She would fondly say:  "Well, she is definitely special and my 'one and only' because after all, I found her in a supermarket (in the old country), and when I went there browsing I saw this most cute, smiling face looking up at me from the basket where she lay; since nobody claimed her -- I decided to take her home!"
