He was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Cora Frild, and 2 brothers Francis and Dale.
He is survived by his sons Rodger (Carole) and Barry (Lesley), Grandchildren Meghan, Logan, Emilie and Step-Grandchildren Emilie and Nicole, as well as 3 sisters, Patricia, Myrna and Margaret and 5 brothers Glen, Garry, Wayne, Brian and Jim.
Vic has a diversified working career; he was a Carpenter, Miner, Oil Rig worker, Tree Faller and then a Cartographer for a forestry company until he retired.
Vic was a kind and ethical man who loved his family dearly. He had a special love for nature and gardening and working in his workshop. Vic spent many hours volunteering his expertise and labour in Boston Car and Hope. He was the lead organizer and designer of the 2 courtyards at the new Fraser Hope Lodge. He was a lion’s member since 1973, and enjoyed being the Bingo Chair for many years.
He will be missed by his large and loving family, and his special coffee buddy Wes. Very special thank you to Wes and Kathy Winger in Diane’s time of need. A memorial will be held at the Hope Golf Course on Sept. 26, 2025 from 12-3pm refreshments will be served with an open bar.
