Wally Guenther passed away at his home in Chilliwack on December 1, 2017, at age 90. Predeceased by his first wife, Rita (nee Dyck), and his son, Tim. Survived and deeply missed by his wife, Doreen (nee Barker), with whom he enjoyed a second life, Doreen's daughters, Nancy and Cathy, and their families, sons Richard (Valerie) and Stan (Patricia), grandchildren Matthew (Malone), Katie (Richard), Sam, and Jesse, brother-in-law Harvey Dyck (Anne), numerous nieces and nephews, and his 29 year old horse, Sunny. Dad was raised in a large family, consisting of one brother, Walt, and seven sisters, Jesse, Tori, Betty, Mary, Irma, and Ingo. Born in Elm Creek, Manitoba, Wally moved to Greendale with his family in 1931, and throughout his life was a positive force with family, friends and the local farming community.
The family wishes to extend appreciation to all of Wally’s friends, with special appreciation to Dr. Mackenzie for his compassion and care in support of Wally.
A celebration of Wally's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 16 at the Atchelitz Farmers Institute Hall. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.
