I work at Immanuel Church in Abbotsford, and had the pleasure and delight of knowing Yo when he would come to deliver our church's coffee order. I always looked forward to seeing him, hearing about his family, and just enjoying the personal touch that he brought to the company.
I asked my coffee delivery guy today, "Do you know how Yo has been since leaving on sabbatical?" And he shared the news with me.
Take care, family and friends. I barely knew him, but I felt like he was a friend nonetheless.
A special soul, to be sure.

Yo was our Van Houtte driver for many years. I have just learned of his passing.  I am so sorry for your loss he was always a bright shining light.

Yo was great at bringing people together for great times and laughs. No matter how hectic the situation Yo brought an unique one of a kind positivity and enthusiasm that made every show so fun and will be sorely missed.

Yo was a one of a kind person with an amazing energy that was always special to be around.

Dear Ashley, the wee girls and Yo's parents. I'm so dreadfully sorry for your loss. As you know, Yo was a ray of sunshine in the comedy world. I performed with him many times over the years. He was the greatest supporter of women in comedy. Always kind and cheerful, we all looked forward to seeing him and working with him. The whole community will feel your loss. So sorry to hear of Yo's passing. A great guy , lots of fond memories from the Future Shop days. He Always found a funny catch phrase which he would often spring upon you at a surprise moment which would make you erupt with laughter. He will be missed but not forgotten. My condolences to all the family.

My heart is with you and your family during this difficult time. I got the opportunity to teach Yo's oldest daughter in preschool quite a few years ago. Her father Yo was always so cheerful, always laughing, and cheering his daughter on. I remember thinking, what a wonderful Dad he is! RIP you will be missed!

While I haven't seen Yo in years, I remember (in highschool and at Future Shop),  he was always smiling and laughing. I admired that most about him, always so happy.

My condolences to the families.

Yo and his dad always visited my parents’ home back in the 80s; Yo was very loved by his dad Phong and were inseparable.  The Trieu and Tieu families learned ESL together at the college along with other Vietnamese families in Chilliwack then.  Phong and my parents were very close friends as new immigrants to Canada from the Vietnam war.  

I’ve reconnected with Yo when he attended CSS where I had taught for many years.  Only very recently I’ve found out Yo was going through cancer battle and reconnected on Messenger; then this sad turn of events.

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Yos passing. He was such a beautiful soul condolences to all family members. Rest in sweet peace yo !

I worked with Yo at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre where he would bring his company, Fraser Valley Comedy. He was so kind and energetic to work with. He gave a stage to local comedians and worked hard giving Chilliwack laughter. To say I will miss him doesn’t feel like strong enough words. He always thanked us and made sure to hype us up.

To Yo’s family,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am deeply saddened by this news. I had the privilege of working with Yo at VHCS, and I want you to know the lasting, positive impression he made on me. His smile was truly contagious, and every time I saw him, he was always positive and full of energy.

I fondly remember how excited he was to become a father, and later, when he shared the joy of expecting his second daughter. Yo was a remarkable person — someone I will always remember with warmth and admiration, and someone I will truly miss.

My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with you during this difficult time.
