Arthur "Mack" Woodie

China Grove-Arthur "Mack" Woodie, 71, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at CMC-Northeast Medical Center. Born May 28, 1942 in Ashe County, he was a son of the late Herman Smith Woodie and Irene Pope Woodie. Mr. Woodie was employeed as a mechanic in the Food Lion distribution center and owned and operated Woodie's Garage for years. When he wasn't working on and fixing something, he enjoyed and had a love for cars and blue grass music. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Mack will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Woodie Smith.

Family members include his wife, Betty Castor Woodie, who he married June 19, 1965; sons, Randy Woodie (Kathy), of China Grove and Michael Woodie (Dee) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Johnny Woodie (Ashley), Garrett Woodie, Bailey and Brooke Woodie; Great-granddaughter, Coraline Woodie; brothers , Denver Woodie (Regina) and Bill Woodie; sisters, Wanda Booth, Dixie Landreth (Max), Bobbie Brown (Bob), Judy Dumpreth (Dale) and Patti Smith (Mike) and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 23, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. A private burial will take place at a later date.
