Benjamin Isaac Harrison Sr.

Mr. Benjamin Isaac Harrison Sr. 89 of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home. Born on October 20, 1927 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Josiah McKamie and Haze Sloop Harrison. A graduate of Boyden High School, he proudly served his country in the US Army. Mr. Harrison retired from Duke Power as a supervisor, but continued to do his life long work which was farming. He was a longtime faithful member of Back Creek Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his son John Mark Harrison and his brother Roger A. Harrison and his sisters Mary M. Doyle and Florence Kolb. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Ola Mae Goodman Harrison, his sons , Ben Harrison Jr. (Pam), Eric Harrison (Kim) and daughter Merri Jo Harrison Freeze. (Laird). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tim Freeze (Breanna), Hannah Babcock (Michael), McKamie Harrison, David Freeze, Caitlin Harrison, Laura Harrison and Ben I. Harrison III.

Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 till 3:00 at Back Creek Presbyterian Church, with funeral also at the church at 3:00 with Rev. Bill Thrailkill, minister. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Back Creek Presbyterian Church, 2145 Back Creek Church Rd. Mt. Ulla, NC 28125.
