Years ago when Bernice lived on Watts St. In Cooleemee I used to stop by her house and have a cup of coffee with her and chat. Over the years we would run into each other at different times Always a joy to see her and catch up, I will miss her. I was so shocked to here the news, I just ran back into Berniece about a month ago and saw her several nights since then. I really admired her spunk and her ability to speak the truth as she saw it. She alway's made me laugh every time I saw her with her witty words and spirit. She always had her grandbaby with her whom she adored and loved having near her. I will truly miss seeing her and listening to her awesome stories and words of hope. Unfortunately, I just looked and found her obituary, I really wanted to attend the service but I am too late, it is already in progress this evening. Berniece was a great lady, she shared some good stuff with me when I first met her in 2011 and I have never forgotten the things she told me. She is one of the reasons I went back to school at my age and got my degree, it was women like her that inspired me. I love her very much and she will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Fly high with the Angels and tell Jansen I miss and love him too, I know you two will be together sharing some great memories. 

Bernice and I met years ago when she was looking for a home.   My husband and I had just finished renovating a house, offered it to her, and she made it into her home.  God put it all together  and it was such an amazing blessing of which to be a part.  God's got her now, and I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.

I worked with Bernice at Performance Fibers.  She was always alot of fun to work with.  Alot of great memories.  Prayers for her family.  She will be  dearly missed!

I worked with her at Henkel where it was just her and I on second shift in Lowbay. I remember her telling me stories about growing up, her love for her mother, and telling me I should visit Baltimore since that's where she grew up. She will be missed and my sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to her family. 

I had been a friend from years ago. Had helped her move, rode with her to an out of town affiliation and worked with her at the beach during another affiliation(2007). Recently (2 weeks ago) she spoke to me (not recognizing her) I told her that her voice reminded me of someone I knew, I said "Berniece". She said "get out of here". We talked for several minutes about the past and went back to work, only to receive the news of her passing Monday. She was a person that would be to the point and be honest. She will be missed by many! Peace and Blessings to her family.
