Born in Rowan County on December 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William Atlas Belk and Annie Collette Belk.
In addition to her parents, Bette was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Wade Alexander Hampton.
Bette was a graduate of China Grove High School and retired from Cannon Mills after forty-five years of service.
She loved to sing and garden. Early in life, Bette was a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ and later became a member of First Baptist Church of China Grove.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Kyle (Natalie) Hampton; two daughters, Donna Hampton and Daphne (Greg) Duganne and four grandchildren, Allison Hampton Atkinson____, Caroline Hampton, Ryan Duganne and Benjamin Duganne.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at West Lawn Memorial Park__ at 3:00 pm__
A memorial service to honor Mrs Hampton’s life will be held at a later date.
