Billy Ray Blackwell

Born in Marlboro County, SC on September 3, 1947, he was the son of the late Willis Blackwell. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Josephine Shuffler, who raised him.

In 1967, Billy married Judy Carol Cox and together they have shared 54 years of marriage.

He worked in textiles and retired after 25 years of service from Real Reel Company. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Judy; children, Paul Lynn Blackwell of Salisbury, Elvis Ray Blackwell of Missouri and Lorrie (Gary) Hinsdale of Mocksville.

Billy is also survived by grandchildren, Isaiah Atwell, Jacob Atwell, Rebekah Starr, Noah Brycen, William Hinsdale, Jordan Blackwell, Christy Blackwell, Andrew Blackwell and Steven Wagoner.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home from 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM.

A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at West Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. John Melton officiating.
