

Born in Rowan County on February 21, 1949, he was the son of the late Coy Leroy Roberts and Ruby Wright Roberts.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by one brother, Doug Roberts.
He graduated from South Rowan High School- Class of 1967 and later received an associate degree from Rowan Technical College (now RCCC) in 1979.
Bobby proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. At any given time, you could hear him telling the younger generation that he wanted them “to grow up and be a good American”.
He retired from Oerlikon, Inc. and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Each year during the spring and summer, Bobby could always be found on his 1948 8N Ford tractor, tending to his Big Beef tomatoes.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Barbara; two daughters, Susan Roberts Kirk (Josh) of Davidson, NC and Sonya Roberts Eury (Todd) of Concord, NC; one grandson, Evan Kirk, who he adored and two sisters, Joyce Prevette of Salisbury, NC and Judy Upright of China Grove, NC and sister-in-law, Debra Roberts of Denton, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 5, 2025, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Brad Hunt officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bobby’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard PO Box 923, Salisbury, NC 28146.
