

Born in Iredell County on February 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Gilbert Eugene Keiger and Emma Loretta Combs Keiger.
In addition to his parents, his brothers, Daryle Dustin Keiger, Orman Miles Keiger and Rev. Gilbert Reid Keiger, also preceded Dale in death.
Dale was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School – Class of 1951. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Army and served for two years.
On October 23, 1954, he married his sweetheart and love of his life, Gayle Morrow Keiger and together they shared 68 ½ years of marriage together until her passing on July 13, 2023.
In the fall of 1954, Dale and Gayle moved to China Grove to open The Young Men’s Shop. In 1970, the name change to Dale’s Sporting Goods and he owned and operated the business until he sold in in 2020.
Dale Keiger was blessed with many credits and accomplishments in his life. He served on the Board of Directors of First Union Bank and Rowan Bank, which later was Rowan Savings & Loan, then Community One Bank and then First National Bank.
In 1957, he joined the China Grove Civitan Club, now known as the China Grove Service Club.
He was a member of First Methodist Church of China Grove since 1957, having served on various boards and committees in the church.
In 1971, Dale began serving and working with the China Grove Little League Program in many positions. He continued to serve until recently.
He also was involved with helping to raise money for starting of South Rowan High School Athletics and Band programs.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Teresa Keiger and her husband Rob Miller; his son, Kevin Keiger and his wife Susan and grandson, Janssen Keiger.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at First Methodist Church of China Grove.
The funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM with Pastor Will Van Wieren officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their appreciation and say thank you to Sue Williams, sister of Gayle Keiger and her husband, Larry for their care and devotion to Dale and to the staffs of Rowan County Hospice and Trinity Oaks of Salisbury, NC for their love and support to Dale and their family.
