David Ray Muncy

Mr. David Ray Muncy of Salisbury, NC passed away following a short illness, Saturday October 12, 2013 at his home. He was 32 years old. David was born on October 17, 1980 in Bluefield, WV. to the late Larry and Mary Ann Muncy. He was a Christian of the Church of God faith, and a worked as a truck driver. He was a graduate of South Rowan High School and a full time student of Rowan Cabarrus Community College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kapa fraternity. He served as President of the Collegiate Honor Society. In addition to his father, Larry, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Harold Blankenship and paternal grandparents Charlie and Gladys Muncy. David was a very kind and loving man, full of life and laughter. He spent a lot of time counseling young children, and traveled all over, lived a full life and never met a stranger. His family meant everything to him and he was loved by so many.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Ann Fisher, and stepfather John, his brother Roger Muncy and fiance Diane of Statesville, step sisters Amy Fisher and Kaycie Fisher. One step brother, John (JB) Fisher. He is also survived by his grandmother Mattie Shortridge and husband David Carl, nephews Jason Torrence and Tyler Muncy, and one niece Lakelyn Kennedy all of Statesville, and one great niece Rylie Torrence. He also had many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:30 til 7:30 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with celebration of life service on Thursday at 10:00 am also at the funeral home with Rev. Aaron Phillips, Minister.
