Marie was retired but returned to working part-time doing what she loved driving the school bus for Cabarrus County Schools. She loved the children and her co-workers. She spoke to them often.
Marie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. It didn't matter who you were, Marie never met a stranger. She would welcome them with open arms and was that person that would listen; she knew what it was like to need someone to just listen. She had a way of making you feel comfortable, like you were talking to your own mother. Her kindness was not something she turned on and off; it was simply who she was. Whether through her words or the little things she did every day she always showed us what it meant to love selflessly. She was the heart of her family.
She created a home filled with love, support, and memories that will stay with us forever. She taught us how to be strong during difficult times and how people show up for the people we love. Marie was that person; it didn't matter what it was; no judgement day or night was there. She had a beautiful spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She was always that mom, grandma, friend in your corner.
She enjoyed going to listen to music, spending time with her grandkids, and sitting on that porch swing. It won't be the same pulling up and not seeing her there.
Marie had had a battle for the past two to three years in and out of the hospital, diagnosed with congestive heart failure and chronic kidney disease. She had good days and not so good days, even days she didn't feel good she was always trying to send a silly meme on ticktock to make you laugh.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of many years, Larry Minton; sons, Scott Minton and Perry Minton (Amy); grandchildren, Rylei Minton, Bryce Minton, Baylei Minton, Emma Minton, and Gavin Honeycutt.
We will miss her till we see her again.
