Gerald Monroe Williams, age 64 of Mt. Ulla, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Atrium Health – Cabarrus from his courageous battle with Covid-19. Born November 8, 1956 in Rowan County, Gerald was the son of the late Gerald Gray Williams and Nancy Deal Williams. He graduated from West Rowan High School.
Gerald spent his career with the family business as the co-owner of Mid-State Machine and current co-owner with his wife, Debra of their family business, Tiger Quick Change Rear Ends LLC. Gerald loved his employees and staff who were like family to him along with working side by side with his sons. He had a passion for his work which carried over into hobbies. He loved muscle cars, attending car shows in Pigeon Forge and all over, especially visiting local car shows with his buddies. He loved farming with his son, Daniel and working on cars and racing with his son, Nick.
Gerald was all about family. He was truly a family man. His wife, children and grandchildren were most important to him. He loved spending time with his sons, traveling to car shows, being outdoors and just enjoying their time together whether at work or at home. Gerald had a passion for grilling, cooking and was an excellent baker, baking the most amazing cakes and homemade biscuits. His culinary skills will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to partake.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Debra, his sons, Nick Williams (Gina) and Daniel Williams (April). He also leaves behind his brothers, Kenny Williams (Cindy) and Tim Williams along with his sister, Teresa Wherritt (Bill). Also surviving are his precious grandchildren, Colin, Caitlin, Callie, Carter, Christian, Nadelyn, Connor, Kae and many nieces, nephews, and too many friends to count.
Visitation and Graveside Service will be private for the family. Due to climate with Covid-19 currently, a Celebration of Life Service honoring Gerald will be announced at a later date. If you wish to send flowers, please send them to the funeral home by late Thursday afternoon.
