Geraldine "Dean" Beaver

Mrs. Geraldine “Dean” Beaver, age 75 of China Grove, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born October 20, 1945 in Mecklenburg County, Dean was the daughter of the late Cameron and Lucille Barnette. In addition to her parents, her twin brothers, Lewis (T-Bone) Barnette and Luther (Fat) Barnette and sister, Evelyn Erwin all preceded her in death. Dean was a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church.

After attending North Mecklenburg High School, Dean work in cotton textiles and then later in her career she worked in retail. In earlier years, Dean loved to work in her yard and tend to her flowers. She was an avid sports fan, especially baseball pulling for her beloved New York Yankees. She loved attending any sporting events that involved her grandchildren – she was always there to support them and cheer them on. Family was her life; she adored her children and grandchildren and loved spending all her time with and around them no matter what the circumstances. She was also close to her husband’s family – the Beaver Family, as they were like her own family. She LOVED her family most of all.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Roy Beaver of the home. She also leaves behind her daughters Marsha Martin (Doug) and Sandy King (Eric), along with her precious grandchildren, Josh and Caleb Martin, Logan, Noah and Riley King and great-grandchild Aurora Martin. Also surviving Dean are her sister, Joyce Mayhew (Grady) and brothers, B.A. Barnette (Betty) and Tom Barnette (Janie); sisters in-law Helen Barnette and Ethel Barnette, brother in-law, Franklin Erwin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

Visitation for Dean will be on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00pm officiated by Pastor Gene Beaver and Pastor Joe Harding, Jr. Committal Service at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord will immediately after at 3:00pm.
