
Mr. Hodges was born on April 11, 1938 in Rowan County and was the son of the late Joe Grady Hodges and Emma Shue Hodges.
He was a 1956 graduate of Landis High School. In his younger years, Grady enjoyed playing softball, where he was on the Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church softball team. Later he joined the Air Force where he was an Aviation Refueler.
Professionally, he worked in the textile industry. His career was with Linn Corriher Mills and later as the Superintendent of Dyeing at American Efrid Yarns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne Castor; and granddaughter, Tracy Dedmon; as well as a sister, Jeanette Mann.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Sarah Moss Hodges; his son Rodney Joe Trahan (Helen); daughters, Ava Kiker, Debbie Prevettte (Kenneth) and Teresa Boger (Scott). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Laurajean Eddings, Kip DeMarcus (fiance' Heather and her children Little Kipp and Hunter), Michael Dedmon, Kristen Anderson, Holly Prevette, Jake Boger (Lacey); and great grandchildren, Mellie DeMarcus, Miles Anderson and Harrison Boger.
A graveside service with full Military Honors will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at Mount Moriah Lutheran Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.linn-honeycutt.com
