

Salisbury-Jack M. Cobb, Jr., 67, passed away Monday afternoon, March 24, 2014, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Born January 30, 1947, in Greensboro, he was a son of Virginia Brewer Cobb of Greensboro and the late Jack Melvin Cobb, Sr. Educated in the Greensboro Schools, he had honorably served his country with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Jack continued his education, receiving an Associate's Degree in both drafting and accounting. He had been employed with Caldwell Paper and Packaging and attended Genesis Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Lance Chrismon.
Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife, Deborah Carver Cobb; his son, Jack Melvin Cobb, III and wife, Melissa, of Franklinville, NC; his daughters, Michelle Cobb of Burlington and Jennifer Cobb, Greensboro; step-daughters, Melissa Travis and husband, Jonathan, of Conroe, TX and aura Tussey and husband, Robert, of Lexington, NC; his brother, Richard Cobb (Bonnie), Lexington, NC; sister, Paula Nance (Bobby), Brown Summit, NC; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 27, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. A graveside service to remember and celebrate his life will be held Friday at 11:00 AM, at the Salisbury National Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Gene Edwards. Military graveside rites will be performed by the NC National Guard and Rowan County Veterans Honor Guards.
