Jimmy was my uncle—I am Brownie’s son. Other than his mother, Lucille, Jimmy was the nicest, most genuine, caring person I ever met. He was always laughing, and always willing to help someone in need. I didn’t seem him much until he retired, but I always enjoyed talking to him, the stories he would share. 

Jim was our minister at Groce UMC in Asheville, NC for many years. So many fond memories of times my wife and I were fortunate to spend with him. We will always remember his smile and laugh.

Jim was my family's pastor when we were members of Lewisville United Methodist Church. He was our pastor and our friend. He co-officiated at our daughter Janel's wedding and was also her Godfather. We loved him deeply and will miss him always. Lee Boyd and family

Great man of God! Prayers for the family.

Jim was like a member of our family. We vacationed together, enjoyed meals together, and my sons treasure the times we spent together! My son, Jonathan, said when he got the news, " I bet daddy's happy!" So now the two Jims are together - happy and healthy! Will miss him greatly!

Preacher Jim, as we affectionately called him, meant alot to me growing up at Porter UMC.  He was loved by my entire family. I fondly remember him visiting with my Grandmother at Whitley's grocery store in Porter on Hwy 52. Peace and love to you all on the loss of this great man who was a shining example of Christian love.

For we United Methodist pastors, Jim was the shinning example of who and what a pastor-servant is and does.  His obvious compassion, God can only count the visits he made.  His sense of humor invited hearing and set folks at ease.  His writings and sermons were "down home."  He never talked down to anyone and his experiences were told to encourage.  No one could have been more devoted.  Can't think of anyone who better exemplified servanthood.   He was our friend, our teacher, our mentor, one who has made many of us who we are.  --David Baxter

Preacher Faggart was a huge part of my life as I grew up in Albemarle at Stoney Hill Church. He was a true example of a joyful Christian man who practiced what he preached. He meant so much to me that I asked him to later return to officiate my wedding. I am forever greatful for the example that he set for me as a child.

We have been members of Groce United Methodist Church for over 40 years, where Jim Faggart served for 7 years.  We can truly say that he was, without a doubt, one of the most beloved pastors we have ever had. His wisdom, wit and commitment to his God & his parishioners, was evident to all & a witness to his faith.  We loved him dearly.  John & Tina Stovall

I'm truly going to miss him!! It was a great pleasure taking care of him. Also having the chance to talk with his sisters. I love his sense of humor. Andhow he would laugh when I would say something silly.  Y'all are very important to me.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Faggart :( He was ALWAYS a blessing every time he came into the drug store to see us 'girls'. We have missed him for a long while  on occasion brought up his name and thought how he was doing. We hold the family in our thoughts and prayers.

Jim was such a fine example of Christ's love. He will be missed.
