

.Mr. James Richard Faggart, 81 of China Grove, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Carillon Assisted Living in Salisbury. Born on October 20, 1935 in Rowan County, he was the son of Fred Martin and Lucille Cruse Faggart. A1954 graduate of China Grove High School, he went on to Duke University, graduating in 1958, and then receiving his degree from Duke Divinity School in 1961. Professionally, Jimmy served from 1961 til 1970 on the Albemarle Circuit, from 1970 til 1975 at Waxhaw United Methodist Church, 1975 til 1985 at Lewisville United Methodist Church, 1985 til 1992 at Asheville Groce United Methodist Church, and then Kernersville Sedge Garden United Methodist Church from 1992 til 1998.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a sister Alice Gary, brothers, Tommy, Jerry and Brownie Faggart and a nephew Marty Faggart, as well as a sister in law Frances Faggart. Those left to cherish his memory is his brother George M. Faggart of Salisbury, and sisters, Patsy F. Martell (Charles) of Salisbury, Glenda Campbell (Woody) of China Grove and Cathy Bost (Johnny) of Salisbury.
Visitation will be on Monday from 6:00 til 8:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, with Funeral on Tuesday at 3:00 at First United Methodist Church in China Grove, with Rev.
