Born in Cabarrus County on July 23, 1951, he was the son of the late Junior Spencer Whitaker and Mary Louise Thompson Whitaker.
James work many years as a mechanic in the auto industry and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ann Whitaker, who passed away in 2006. They were married on December 23, 1983.
Those left to cherish his memory are Christopher Little, Greta Sullivan, Eric Sullivan, Thomas Sullivan, and several friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM at West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors.
