John Patrick Jaap

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Patrick Jaap, age 63, of China Grove, North Carolina, on Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was born on September 23, 1961, in Vero Beach, Florida, to John and Patricia Jaap.

Above all, Patrick was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found joy in helping others. He loved being needed and was always there for those he loved. A passionate musician, Patrick played the saxophone in several bands over the years and was also a dedicated car restoration enthusiast. He thrived in his work as a consultant for Frankenmuth Insurance.

Patrick is survived by his beloved wife, Annelise Jaap; daughters, Amanda Berns (Christopher Berns) and Hillary Jaap (Jorge Martinez Blatz); grandchildren, Sophia and Topher Berns; his parents, John and Patricia Jaap; siblings, Amy and Paxton Butler, David and Stephanie Jaap, Jason Jaap, Audra Lowman, Steve and Gretna Rice, Hamlin and Pam Ortiz-Marty; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family for a service at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12th, from 2 to 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of Rowan County in his memory.
