
Born on November 12, 1930 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Paul Alexander and Annie Belle Misenheimer Kistler. A graduate of Mt. Ulla High School, he was of the Lutheran faith. He served his country in the US Marines during the Korean War on board the USS Missouri Mr. Kistler worked for North Carolina Department of Transportation as a mechanic. His hobbies included fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Kistler Jr.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 60 years, Lillian Miller Kistler, sons, John Levi Kistler Jr. and wife Pam and Clifford Andrew "Kip" Kistler and wife Tina both of Salisbury. A sister Margaret K. Getchell of Lexington and a granddaughter Claire Kistler also survive him.
Family will recieve friends on Monday from 10-11 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with a graveside service at 12 noon at St. Lukes Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Carroll Robinson, minister.
