Mr. John Wayne Lunsford, 78 of Mooresville passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis. Born on October 31, 1939 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late John Vernon and Edna Mae Scercy Lunsford. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, he served his country in the US Army. John enjoyed working as a lumberjack and painting. He loved the companionship of his dogs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Vernon Lynn Lunsford. Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Irma Haley Whitt of Lenoir, Pat Price (Gene) of Kannapolis, and Debbie Gray (Ken) of Mooresville. Also surviving him is one nephew and one niece.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 till 11:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral to follow at 11:00 also at the funeral home with Rev. Gene Edwards, minister.
