Marvin Eugene Rouse

He was born on July 26, 1936 in Rowan County and was the son of the late Marvin Cletus Rouse and Mary Martha Tyson Rouse. He was a graduate of Boyden High School and was a longtime active member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. He proudly served in the US Army National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Michael Rouse and his son Michael Eugene Rouse.

Those with cherished memories include his daughters, Mary Ann Rouse (Jeff Sonier), and Sharon Rouse, grandchildren, Natalie Sonier, Amber James (Donald) and Crystal Branem (Aaron) as well as great grandchildren Emarie James and Hannah James. He is also survived by his daughter in law Deborah Rouse.

Marvin worked for 28 years for Loeblein Brothers furniture manufacturers. In his spare time he enjoyed playing piano, guitar and accordian, as well as collecting model trains and working on cars.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove.

The funeral service will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Wike officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
